    The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India) presents WELD INDIA 2022 , the 15th International Welding Technology Exhibition covering Arc Welding, Solid State Process, Brazing, Soldering, Adhesive Bonding, Plastic Welding, Metallurgy, Materials Testing Techniques including NDT, Health & Safety, Robotics & Automation, Beam Processes & Special Processes like Nano Joining and other allied fields, to be held during 19 to 21 January 2023 at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, India Concurrently the National Welding Seminar (NWS 2022) will host about 700 delegates from India & abroad. Over 200 technical papers are expected to be presented at NWS 2022.
    The Chennai Trade Centre is architecturally and technically designed "state-of-the-art" Exhibition Complex. The air-conditioned venue hall is eminently suitable for multi-purpose use of organizing exhibitions, conferences, conventions etc.
    The exhibition centre very close to the Chennai International Airport. It is also easily accessible from the the city centre and the manufacturing hubs of Chennai.

    Chennai is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu and is India's fourth largest metropolitan city. Possessing the third largest economy (2006-2007) among states in India, Tamil Nadu is also the second most industrialised state in India. It ranks third in FDI approvals - The State's investment constitutes 9.12% of the total FDI in the country Unlike many other states, the economic resources are quite spread out, rather than concentrated in a small industrialised area. Chennai has a diversified economic base covering sectors like Automobile, Light Engineering, Textile, Petrochemicals, Leather, Heavy Engineering, Defence & Space, Nuclear etc.
    Chennai is the automobile capital of India, with around 40% of the major automobile giants such as Hyundai, Ford, Mitsubishi, BMW, Renault Nissan, TVS, Ashok Leyland, Caterpillar, Daimler, Force Motors, Tafe, Yamahan, Royal Enfield, TI Cycles having their manufacturing plants there and producing 80% of the nation's vehicles. Chennai is also a major centre in the Auto Ancillary industry. The Heavy Vehicles Factory, Avadi produces military vehicles, including India's main battle tank Arjun. The Railway Coach building factory of the Indian Railways, the Integral Coach Factory manufactures railway coaches and locomotives. The prestigious nuclear power plants of the Dept of Atomic Energy and its research & development wing are located at Kalpakkam.
    Chennai is also the hub of technical and research education, the state has more than 250 engineering and technical institutes. The country's prestigious technical university - Anna University as well as one of the best known Indian Institute of Technology are located in the city. Chennai airport is one of the busiest in the country with flights operating to major cites around the world and is well connected to most of the airports in India. Chennai is also well connected with cities in Tamil Nadu and other southern states by rail and road.
